W4VQ, Robert R. Beatty III, of Geneva, Florida is now Silent Key.

He was suffering from Parkinson’s and had a very rapid decline of health. Bob was a member of the Central Florida DX Association and the A1 Operators Club. He was also a member of FOC (1299). W4VQ was a former DXAC Chairman during the time when BS7H was added to the DXCC list. He opposed the addition and later introduced the minimum island size rule. Bob was a long time subscriber and source for The Weekly DX. He is now with his wife and Lord and Savior.

Bob joined FOC in May 1976.
