With much sadness and regret, we must announce the sudden passing of Henry “Doc” van Kets ON4IZ (2069).

His obit from the Daily DX:  “ON4IZ, Henry E “Doc” Van Kets, passed away on September 29. Henry was born in 1939 and was first licensed at age 16. He was a gynecologist at the University of Gent Medical School. In 1988 he had the opportunity to be DX as CE0FFD from Easter Island. After retiring in 1998 he had more time for radio and concentrated his interests in DXing, IOTA chasing and CW. Doc was a member of the UBA, ARRL, RSGB, CDXC, MDXC and FOC. ON4IZ achieved ARRL’s DXCC Honor Roll #1 and had 381 all time entities. He was also on the IOTA Honor Roll with 1114 islands confirmed. Doc “will be sadly missed in the DX Community”, remembers ON4CAS, Egbert.”
