Fabian Kurz, DJ1YFK, receives the Horkheimer Prize 2021 for setting up and running his website “Learn CW online” (LCWO). The website can be reached at www.lcwo.net and has over 100,000 registered users.

The DARC chairman Christian Entsfellner, DL3MBG, stated in his laudation that since it was created in 2008 it has helped many people around the world to understand Morse code.

"You can learn using the tried and tested methods without great effort," says DL3MBG. "With the help of radio amateurs around the world, the website has now been translated into 32 languages," explains DL3MBG. "On behalf of all radio amateurs: Thank you very much for your website, which you have been looking after here on a voluntary basis since 2008," concluded DL3MBG.

OM Fabian Kurz, DJ1YFK, accepts the award virtually with pleasure and explains: "This site has been following me for almost ten years - every day". Some days there is more to do, some less. Depending on the features or support questions."

Fabian came up with the idea out of love for telegraphy, but also out of an interest in programming. DJ1YFK says he is particularly happy when he meets radio amateurs on the bands who have learned Morse code with the help of his site. “Those are moments when all the work is forgotten - it was worth doing it”.
